The Valley’s Best Christmas Traditions 2013

Phoenix Christmas EventsFinish up your wrapping and step out to enjoy the season because the Valley is ablaze with Christmas lights, adorned with wreathes and bows, and festive with fun and snow for just a few more weeks! Snow? Yes, snow. Whether you are looking for somewhere nearby to see the elusive white treat or want to re-enact your favorite Christmas movie with a ride in a horse-drawn carriage, we’ve pulled together three of the most exciting Valley Christmas traditions you don’t want to miss.

Scottsdale: Christmas at the Princess features a towering musical tree with more than 65,000 LED lights dancing to the Christmas standards, evening animated light shows in the Enchanted Plaza, Lagoon Lights with a 10-foot lighted Menorah and Dreidels, and an ice skating rink with falling snow! A portion of the proceeds from the skating fees will be donated to Phoenix Children’s Hospital. Admission for the guests of the hotel and visitors is free (parking charges apply) and events run through January 4, 2014. For more information, show times, and skate rental prices, please visit the Scottsdale Princess Resort Website.

Ahwatukee: The Coyote Den is not the only place with a White Out as anyone who has been down the main drag in Ahwatukee in the last month will tell you! If you haven’t seen it yet, fill up your hot chocolate mugs and pile the family into the car for a white light adventure from 24th Street to Desert Foothills Parkway on Chandler Blvd. in Ahwatukee. The Festival of Lights kicked off back at Thanksgiving and runs nightly from 6-11pm through New Year’s Night. For more information or to get the low down on volunteering to help take down the million white lights on January 4th, visit The Festival of Lights Website.

ReindeerGlendale: Voted “Best Kid Event” by in 2012, Glendale Glitters celebrated their 20th celebration this year with more than 1.6 million lights decorating 16 blocks of Historic Downtown Glendale. The lights can be seen nightly from 4-10pm through January 11th when the six-week adventure concludes with the Glendale Glitter and Glow Block Party! Horse and carriage rides are available through January 10th for a fun way to explore the festive downtown area.
