Spirit of the Southwest Fiesta Bowl Parade – Dec. 28, 2013

rsz_fiesta_bowl copyWith so many events on your calendar this holiday season, its never too early to put a big red circle on the one event you want to be sure not to overlook – the Spirit of the Southwest Fiesta Bowl Parade. Steeped in more than 40 years of tradition, this parade born out of the necessity to pair a parade with a “bowl”, the Spirit of the Southwest Fiesta Bowl Parade is a labor of love and a holiday tradition that has become Arizona’s largest single-day spectator event.

Though it is just one of the many events supporting the Fiesta Bowl Charities in conjunction with the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl event, it is perhaps one of the most visible representations of all of the good work that the charity does for our community. Fiesta Bowl Charities has a mission of enhancing organizations that “contribute to the success of their communities through youth, sports, education and human services” including Gabriel’s Angels, YMCA of Southern Arizona, Scottsdale Railroad and Mechanical Society, The Society of St. Vincent de Paul, and many others. By attending the Tostitos Fiesta Bowl and related events this holiday season, you will  be contributing to this mission and helping the Fiesta Bowl Charities support these and many other community organizations throughout the Valley.

The Fiesta Bowl Parade kicks off at 11:00 am on December 28, 2013 in Central Phoenix. The parade route runs down Central Avenue from just South of Bethany Home to Camelback Road where it heads East to Seventh Street before heading South to Campbell Avenue. As always, admission to the Parade is free but bleacher seating can be reserved for $25 and disabled seating can be purchased for $10. For its 43rd celebration the parade will feature balloons, horses, charities and organizations, and a special Grand Marshall designation to the families of the firefighters who tragically lost their lives this Summer in the Yarnell Hill Fire.
