FAB…ulous! Intel announces plans to build Fab 42 in Chandler, Arizona

Intel in chandlerYesterday’s announcement by Intel President and CEO Paul Otellini outlined Intel’s plan to build a new chip manufacturing facility in Chandler was music to 500,000 ears in Chandler, AZ.  (That’s assuming 2 ears per approximately 250,000 people living in Chandler).

I mean, who wouldn’t be excited about an estimated 1000 permanent new jobs, as well as thousands of new construction jobs being brought to the area?

Intel will invest more than $5 Billion to build new Fab 42, which will be the most advanced, high volume semiconducter manufacturing facility in the world according to Business Wire.

Fab 42 will be built behind the Fab 32 facility located in the Ocotillo area of Chandler with construction to begin this summer and completing the facility in 2013.

This is great news to the economy in the area…and is also great news for homeowners.

We aren’t going to see any improvement to our real estate market until there are jobs to support those house payments.  The new jobs created by Intel will bring home buyers and will also help those homeowners who may soon hold a new job at Intel.  So many homeowners truly want to stay in their homes but cannot afford to do so due to the loss of a job.

So I say “BRAVO” Intel!  This is a great bright light at the end of what has been a very long, dark tunnel.  So, thank you!
