Arizona ranked as 5th most desirable state to live in

Arizona best place to liveApparently the housing crisis really has no bearing on a States desirability factor.  3 of the states hit hardest by foreclosures ~  California, Florida & Arizona,  are listed as the most desirable places to live according to a recent poll by Harris Interactive.

It’s no surprise to me.  Despite the housing woes, Arizona still has a lot going for it and apparently I’m not the only one who feels this way.  And now, a big bonus….housing is oh-so-affordable!

Arizona is gaining in popularity according to the poll.  Arizona ranked 5th this year  (up from 6th in 2009).

People were asked “where they would most like to live if they couldn’t live in their own state”.

The top ten results are as follows:

  1. California
  2. Hawaii
  3. Florida
  4. Colorado
  5. Arizona
  6. North Carolina
  7. Oregon
  8. Texas
  9. New York
  10. Washington

A modest 2620 people responded to the poll which ran for a week from 9/14/2010 – 9/20/2010.

Interesting to note that the Baby Boomer generation (ages 46-64) ranked Arizona highest of all age groups polled.  Maybe that’s why I’m here.

  1. Another wonderful thing about Arizona to point out is the plethora of different terrains within a 20 mile radius! You can go from complete desert to a beautiful forest within a matter of hours. I feel this is one of the many reasons why Arizona is so popular… Even though it can be HOT! in the summer, you can easily take a short drive up north to escape the heat!

  2. Absolutely true! My husband and I have a cabin in Pinetop. A 3 hour drive and we have snow!
