The Chandler Real Estate Market is beginning to stir

chandler-real-estateCan you feel it?  You have to be very still, but it’s there…an undercurrent.  Something is starting to happen with the real estate market in Chandler, AZ.

Call me Pollyanna with my rose colored glasses firmly in place, but I’ve felt this before.  I’ve felt the market change right before the big seller’s market hit in 2004.  Like a slight tremor of about .5 on the real estate Richter Scale but it was tangible.  Then SLAM…all of a sudden we were in the midst of the biggest, craziest real estate market madness I’ve ever seen with 33 offers on a home within hours of listing it.

A couple years later, I felt something again. Oh, it was subtle like the slight tang of milk going bad.  But I knew things were changing.  I had no idea how much it would change, but I knew the “seller’s market” was over.

I’m starting to feel that again.  It’s just a tingle but change is definitely in the air.  I think 2009 is going to mark the return to real estate balance and the return of home appreciation.  I don’t think it will happen overnight, but this time next year I think we’ll all be saying “Remember 2008 ~ the year that ate the real estate bubble?  Wish I had bought a home then!”

Interest rates are falling and the phone is starting to ring again.  So, let’s all practice a little positive energy, whataya say?   Click your ruby slippers together and repeat after me “There’s no place like home…it’s a great time to buy one…there’s no place like home.”

  1. Hi there Amy, I completely agree with you, the change is for sure in the air, this indeed is the right time to buy home, I have been advising my friends and colleagues to buy a home now before the market bounce back! I also feel in DEC 2009 things would be entirely different than what they are now!

  2. Thanks for the great info. I hope you’ll follow this with some more great content.

  3. I too feel the movement into Chandler, Az. I’ve been desiring to move to Arizona for some years now. And I’m actually closer now to doing it. I should be moving there sometime in 2009…just not sure what date. I’ve been searching the cities that surround the Phoenix area and have decided to live on the eastern side of the city. Scottsdale, Fountain Hills, Paradise Valley, Mesa, and Tempe are out of my reach, financially. That leaves me with Gilbert, and Chandler….which I love. But what leads me toward Chandler is the beauty of the homes and the square footage of house for the money. I’ve also ran some statistics and the median household income is fair. The taxes a bit high but over all Chandler can’t be beat for the money. I’ll take a week and come out and actually get a feel for the city itself, but I’m sure that I’ll love it as much as I love the houses that I’ve seen. I look very much to my move there. Can’t Wait!!…..Val J

  4. Hi Val~
Gilbert and Chandler are both great areas and the prices of homes are certainly at very affordable levels. I’d be happy to help with your home search when you’re ready. You’re going to love the Valley of the Sun!!!

  5. Amy, you are SO right. I feel it here in Phoenix too. It IS just a slight feeling, but when I post my Sunday Stats, the numbers back us up. We’re on track for a solid recovery in 2009 and I’m excited about it!
