Arizona Military Family Relief Fund and how you can help~

Military families and the issues they face is something that’s near and dear to my heart.  Not only are these brave men and women fighting to keep our country safe, my dad was a 20-year retired US Navy Veteran, so I know the sacrifices these families make.

The Arizona Military Family Relief Fund was established to assist Arizona military families with any financial crisis that may occur.

By donating to this worthy effort, not only will you benefit from feeling the “warm fuzzies” knowing you have helped, this year you can donate up to $400 and receive a dollar for dollar state tax credit for your donation.

It’s simple to do.  Just download the contribution form.  Fill out the form and mail it in with your check attached and they will send you a receipt you can use to receive your state tax credit.

Don’t wait too long if you want the tax credit.  According to their website, the total donation tax credits cannot exceed 1 Million Dollars.

You have to pay your Arizona State Taxes anyway, so why not tell them where to use the money?  Oh…and don’t keep this a secret.  Please share the news!

PS…I’m not a tax professional and you should consult your tax advisor for specific tax advice.

I belong to an organization that has raised some money for families of servicemen and women who are in financial need. We desire to make the contribution directly to families in a particular area of Arizona. Do you know of an organization that we can partner with to accomplish this? Thank you very much, Lloyd

  4. I’ve checked with the Arizona Military Relief Fund and they don’t accept donations or provide family’s for direct donation from the public. However, they did provide the name of an organization called “Heroes to Hometowns” which you can find by searching that term. I didn’t see any indication that they provide families for direct contribution either, but you could give them a call to see if they do.

I might also suggest contacting your local Veteran’s organization such as the American Legion to see if they know of local military families that may need help.

While checking into your request, I did find a website that says you can contribute directly to a military family’s needs. The website is called USA Together. The website is: https://app01.usatogether.org/
I would check it out to make sure it’s all legit, of course, but it does look intriguing!

Thanks for your inquiry and God bless~

    Good morning,
A coworker gave me a Family Relief Fund pamphlet. This looks like a wonderful cause and I am a prior military member. My question is what percentage of every dollar is taken for overhead costs?

    Thank you,
    Rafael

  6. Hi Rafael,
Great question…that I don’t know the answer to. From the Arizona Military Family Relief Fund website I did find a name and number for more information. Diane should be able to answer that question for you.
